The Central Library of the Government Engineering College, Dahod (GEC-Dahod) is the hub
for information services in the institute, gathering place for the students and faculties of
diversified technological areas and also serves as a major learning and resource center. It is a
creative and innovative partner in supporting the teaching, learning, scholarly and research
activities of the institute. With the fast-growing collection, both in digital and print forms using
the state-of-the-art facilities, the Central library of the institute is contributing exponentially to
provide a world class academic environment within the institute.
The Library is located in a separate building having a beautiful landscape of lush green
plants within the campus which gives a pleasant ambience to the readers. There is a well
ventilated reading room, magazine/journal reference room, book stacking room along with
sanitary facilities on the ground floor. On the first floor, there is a reading area, seminar room.
Well-furnished and illuminated location creates an atmosphere of serenity that motivates the
readers to have effective learning and research activities. The collection in the library
encompasses more than 15000 books varying in subjects like engineering, basic science &
humanities and also includes reference books in printed form (hard copy).
The Institute has Club membership of NDLI (National Digital Library of India). Students
can avail the benefits of the membership and explore the e-resources, events and e-courses also.
The institute has membership of DELNET that provides a tremendous amount of e-resources of
DELNET like e-books, e-journals, e-courses, e-newspapers, etc.

The Central Library of the Government Engineering College Dahod has some of the
resources for the members of the library for their technical upgradation. This library is
developed keeping mind for both undergraduate and postgraduate students of the institute.
At the same time, some of the faculty members who are involved in their PhD research are
also vailing the facilities of the library. The details of the available resources as given

- Unauthorized persons are not allowed inside the library
- Student’s entry is permitted only with college / library identity card
- All the persons have to maintain discipline and silence inside the library
- Library books will be issued only to the library members (students or staff)
- The membership cards must be renewed periodically/beginning of new semester
- Books will be issued as per the allotted library tickets only
- At the end of the course (BE/ME), students have to return the library tickets failing to which fine will be imposed
- For the loss of library ticket/non-return of library ticket, penalty of Rs. 150/- per ticket will be levied
- The issue of new/duplicate library ticket will be charged Rs. 150/- per ticket
- The library books are issued only for the reading purpose. The teared book will not be accepted and the students will be penalized for the same.
- At the end of the semester, all students and staff of the institute have to return the issued books to the library
- Journal/Magazine will be issued to read only inside the library on the deposit of library/college I-card
- The library NOC will be issued only on the submission of all the issued books, library tickets and other issued library items
- All the students and staff have to cooperate the available library staff during issue/return of library books and other items
- Non-following of library rules, the library membership of the student will be cancelled
